The wording on the invitation is only a suggestion. You can choose to use your own wording or verse, or you can make changes to the wording to make it more personalized. We also have some sample verses that you can review and use if you so choose. These can be viewed on our Sample Verses in our help section.
You do not have to use the verses on the website. You can use our sample verses, found on our Sample Verses page, or you can write your own. You can be as traditional or as unique as you choose; after all it is YOUR wedding.
Standard invitations include 14 lines of text (unless specified differently on the invitation), printed in black ink, doubled envelopes, and tissue paper. Colored ink, lined envelopes, and return address on outer envelope are all features available for an additional fee. Reception cards typically have 6 lines of text (unless otherwise specified), and are printed in black ink. Reception cards DO NOT come with envelopes because they are put inside the invitation envelope. Response Cards typically have 6 lines of text (unless otherwise specified) printed in black ink, and include envelopes printed with the address to which you want the response mailed. Informal Notes and Thank You Cards contain 1 line of text, are printed in black ink, and include blank envelopes. An inside verse can be printed on the Informal Notes or Thank You Cards for a cost of approximately $25-$35. Colored ink is available on all of the products mentioned above for a nominal fee. Please note that if you choose to get colored ink on more than one item, i.e. Invitations and Thank You cards, you will be charged a colored ink fee for EACH item you choose to have printed with colored ink. As all invitations are priced differently, please refer to the specific invitation for which you would like a price.
In most cases the design color stays the same, regardless of the ink color you choose. It is a good idea to keep this in mind when choosing an invitation and an ink color. Make sure the design of the invitation and the ink color are complimentary. If the design is available in multiple colors, it will be stated on the invitation.
Yes, you typically want to order 25 invitations more than you think you will need. This over- ordering allows for any mistakes you may make while addressing and also allows for any last minute changes to your guest list. If you do not order 25 extra on your original order and have to re-order at a later date, it can cost almost as much for the 25 extra as for the entire original order. This is due to the fact that the printer will have to again set up your order, thus making it a new order. It saves a lot of time and money on your part to just over- order your invitations by 25.
Yes, we recommend getting a proof of your invitation. This allows you to view the style and layout of the invitation as well as check for any misspellings. All proofs are either e-mailed as PDF files to the e-mail you submit when you place your order, or they can be faxed. Please note, there is a nominal fee for this service, and it will add 3-4 days to your processing time for your order. Unfortunately, we DO NOT send out sample invitations.
Please proofread your order very carefully before submitting it to us to be printed. We will print your items exactly as you submit them to us. We do spell check each order as a safety precaution, but we do not change anything without notifying you. Proper names are NEVER corrected and are printed EXACTLY as you submit them. If you receive your item and it is incorrectly printed, please notify us immediately (within 3 days). We will pull your order and check the paperwork that was submitted to us against what was actually printed. If the mistake was ours, we will reprint your order and have it 2-day shipped to you. If the mistake was not ours, we will gladly correctly reprint the items for you. This will be treated as a new order and will include an additional 5% discount.
Most invitations on our website are printed with raised letters (thermographed). However; select upscale invitations are also available with embossed letters (sunken imprinted letters). Invitations will specify if they are embossed.
All of the invitations available on makingmemeoriesinvitations.com can be used as announcements. The difference is in the wording. For sample wording, please see our Sample Verses in our help section.
We use both Carlson Craft and BirchCraft for our invitations. Many times they have the same invitations or very similar invitations, but the price is different with each vendor. The print quality is the same. It is a good idea to check both vendors’ links on the page if you find an invitation you like, since the same or a very similar invitation will likely be less expensive with one vendor or the other.
Invitations are typically mailed out 6-8 weeks before the wedding. This gives your guests ample time to plan to attend and make any travel arrangements necessary. This also gives you enough time to get an ample guest count.
No, we do not have catalogs available to mail out. We only have the large dealer binders that you see in Bridal Shops. If you are in the Baton Rouge, Louisiana area, you can visit our retail shop Addis Athletics & Apparel to view the dealer books. However; please note that makingmemeoriesinvitations.com offers the ENTIRE line of Carlson Craft and BirchCraft products and our retail location has only a few books to browse.
